LET'S GO OUT FOR A WALK? in Birmingham (UK). Feb 2022
For the BE Festival Winter 2022 season, Frrancesc Serra Vila worked closely with Birmingham’s communities to deliver LET’S GO OUT FOR A WALK?, a bespoke performative piece that blends together live and visual arts.
The piece was designed specifically for senior citizens, who were invited on a journey to connect their memories from the past to the present. Participants shared their most treasured stories and moments from living in Birmingham which Francesc then mapped out, preserving those memories and creating an archive of the city’s history.
LET'S GO OUT FOR A WALK? started with a series of one-to-one encounters with senior citizens; the outcome of these meetings was displayed to a larger audience in format of a performative installation, presented between the 14th and the 18th of Februrary 2022.

Performative installation - At the Exchange, 14-15 and 17-18 Feb 2022
The display of the installation in the public realm is an opportunity to continue adding stories from passers-by, and share with them some of the memories collected in a performative format.
